Asus Transformer Book T200TA Review

Asus Transformer Book T200TA Review

Asus Transformer Book T200TA is a brand new laptop, it comes with an 11.6 inch screen and weighs around 1.7 pounds, and when it is connected to the dock, the Tranformer Book weighs at 3.6 pounds. This notebook is quite thicker and heavier than the T100TA or in other words Asus did have to sacrifice the portability of this device in order to get its low price for customers. First impressions are very good. The tablet part of the Asus T200TA is covered in dark blue with concentric circles. A Asus logo is in center.

The display is 11.6-inch with a low resolution of 1366 x 768, but a good-quality IPS panel ensures that images have plenty of detail, bright screen and viewing angles are wide too.

You get only a 64GB SSD inside the tablet, which is quite enough for use. You can also expand this by inserting a microSD card. When docked, you can get 500GB hard disk available.  The 760g keyboard dock is positive well built. When typing, the keys are quite comfortable and accurate typing. You'd have no qualms doing a day's work on this device.

Asus Transformer Book T200TA is powered by An Intel Atom Z3775 processor which is a quad-core chip based on Bay Trail architecture with a base clock speed of 1.46GHz and up to 2.39GHz. 2GB of Memory system (RAM), so performance is relatively low once there are multiple programs open. But if your need is basic web browsing, watching videos and word you'll have no issues.

The battery lasted up to 8h 21m. This is a low cost laptop/tablet which give you a lot more battery life. It is an smart combination between tablet portability and laptop practicality. It's never so too big to be considered a replacement for your 7in tablet, but it's a good alternative for base entertainment. If you're looking for a cheap laptop for a bit of work and media consumption, the Asus T200TA is the best choice.

Finding the Laptop for Your Extreme Gaming Enjoyment

Asus gaming laptop
Asus gaming laptop

Have you heard of Age of Conan or Warhammer? Maybe you prefer World of Warcraft, EVE, or Everquest? When you are an extreme gaming fan, whether online or on your PC, it can be challenging to identify the laptop that suits all of you gaming needs.

Not all laptops are created equally. The gaming experience depends on how capable your laptop is to provide sufficient game optimization. You will likely want a laptop that is designed and set up specifically for your gaming habits. This guide will discuss some of the finer extreme gaming laptop points.

The laptop accessories that you need can include a headset with microphone combo, for games with integrated voice chat. You may also wish to get a background team talk program to run for the games that do not support such technology. An external hard drive can help keep your gaming experience optimal as well. Now you need to check out your preferred game for its minimum system requirements.

When you start to browse extreme gaming laptops, you will want to check out all of the components. Weigh each of these against the minimum system requirements. Do not be afraid to step your hardware up a little to exceed the minimum requirements. This can be the easiest way to identify what your needs are in a gaming laptop.

Video cards are of huge importance. Check out the best gaming video cards on the market, and make sure that the laptop you select utilizes one of them. Today's 3D gaming environments are using the best technology available to them to provide an extreme experience. A card that is old, or that is too slow, will retard your gaming images, sacrificing image quality during live game play.

Use a hard drive with sufficient memory and space available to keep your game play running smoothly. Your laptop should have at least 80GB of memory, and 2GB of RAM to keep your gaming experience running smooth. Being able to upgrade your RAM is important, too, as extreme gaming keeps on advancing.

Your sound card should also be exceptional. Though you may not know it if you have not yet experienced the benefits of a good sound card, it can make a world of difference when engaged in gaming. Sure, you get a better quality of sound for the music, voices, and ambient sounds, but that can be the least of your concerns. In some games it helps you detect attackers by audible cues, such as footsteps.

When you are getting acquainted with gaming laptops, you will see that most of those on the market that are created specifically for extreme gaming will provide a fair game play experience. Most PC companies are coming out with their own extreme gaming packages to keep their users satisfied. Hopefully you find these tips helpful as you search for your own extreme gaming laptop.

Asus Zenbook UX301LA
Asus Zenbook UX301LA (img source: asus.com)

ASUS ZENBOOK UX301 is a wonderful laptop with its sleek, smooth and durable glass design. It has a 13.3-inch IPS touch screen that looks like the 13-inch MacBook Air. This machine is now elegant dark blue, Its lid is covered in a layer of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, especially the area around the chassis is made from ceramic, for a smooth and solid feel.

We see that this laptop retains the gorgeous concentric circle design of previous Zenbooks, however, the lid is highly susceptible to fingerprints. It's a cons, because smudges can quickly obscure the laptop's innate beauty.

This laptop is quite slim, lightweight profile at 1.4 kg, 325 x 226 x 15.5 mm dimensions includes 6-cell battery. This Zenbook is lighter than even the MacBook Pro.

The Zenbook UX301 comes with a 13-inch touch screen display with 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution. It is supported the Intel Core i7-4558U processor and Ram up to 8GB 1600MHz, SSD up to 256GB. Get more done each day with a high-performance notebook designed to work fast and reliably

On the left side has a USB 3.0 port, a mini-HMDI and jacks for headphones and power jack. It has up to 7 hours and 74 minutes of battery life.
Pros
Its design is beautiful.
This laptop is very light and thin
The screen is ultra high resolution (2560x1440)
The back-lit keyboard is responsive, The keys feel nice and comfortable to use
The battery life lasts about 8 hours with the screen being on.
Boot up times are incredibly fast. Not only does it boot up in around 7 seconds

The back of the screen shows fingerprints. Not really a big deal because in the package a nice case and cleaning material is included.
There is only 2 USB ports

Asus Zenbook UX303LA Review

Asus Zenbook UX303LA Review
Asus Zenbook UX303LA (img source: asus.com)
Asus Zenbook UX303LA comes with the technical details: 13.3 inch HD+(1600 x 900) screen, Intel Core i5-4210U processor 1.7GHz up to 2.7Ghz, 128GB SSD, 6GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4400, Windows 8.1, Intel Dual-band IEEE 802.11ac WiFi

Asus Zenbook UX303LA is an ultraportable laptop with a great-looking system but it has the budget price you’d expect. The machine has been covered by slick metal that make it slimmer. Its 1.45kg weight is portable for an Ultrabook, but it seems heavier than the HP and Apple machines. Even Lenovo’s Yoga 2 Pro weight below 1.4kg. The body's 18mm extends to 20mm, which is thicker than every competitor.

Available Connections include: three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and mini-Display Port outputs and an SD card slot. IEEE 802.11ac Wi-FI and Bluetooth v4.0. It has no Gigabit Ethernet, but it is supplied a USB adapter in the box, and another to convert mini-Display Port to D-SUB.

The UX303LA has a 13.3" non-touch screen with the resolution of HD+(1600 x 900)  and an anti-glare.

The UX303LA isn't a good choice for those that regularly edit videos or images, and this machine also won't be the best for watching videos either. But if you’re browsing the web, playing casual games or using Office applications, it’s ample.

 Pros

Good-looking metal design. Sweet Laptop with simple yet elegant design
Great performance for the price; overall it is a good notebook
It is very lightweight and sleek.
    Fast Core i5 Haswell processor
    Good battery life
    Impressive keyboard and trackpad
Boots up in under 10 seconds
Speakers are extremely clear and loud
    Full-sized HDMI port
    USB 3.0 port

Cons

    Slightly thick and heavy
    Poor screen quality
    Competitors are longer-lasting

Asus N550JK Review

Asus N550JK Review
Asus N550JK (img source: asus.com)

ASUS N550JK is designed as a multimedia laptop that could do any task. It is a perfect mix of features and performance that can meet office's work and mobile gaming. The design of the N550JK is very similar to the previous ASUS N56 series laptops. A silver aluminum body and keyboard make it luxurious and stylish. It features 3 inch thickness and a weight of 6 pounds making it heavier than some of the newer laptops.

N550JK is powered by Intel Haswell Processor:  Intel Core i7-4700HQ or Intel Core i5 4200H. This processor provides enough performance for those that are looking for a fast mobile laptop. The system memory can be upgraded to 16GB that means the system can handle demanding high level tasks such as video editing or PC gaming without a problem.

This Asus uses an up to 1 terabyte HDD that provides it with a large amount of room for games, applications, data and media files. Unlike many newer computers, ASUS N550JK still features an internal DVD burner for playback and recording of CD or DVD media.

This laptop used a 15.6-inch display, available in HD or IPS Full HD. The resolution up to 1920x1080 provides clear color and high contrast level. Asus combines it with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M equipped with 2GB or 4GB of DDR3 VRAM. This is a middle level graphics processor that does allow the system to play games.

The full keyboard with numeric keypad, the larger size, and the layout is perfect for control, enter and backspace. It offers the comfort and high accuracy.  The keyboard features also a backlight for use in low light conditions. The trackpad is a nice large surface that features integrated buttons.

Available ports include an HDMI port, three 3.0 USB ports, an AC adapter plug, a COMBO audio jack, a mini Display Port, and RJ-45 port. For wireless, you can get internet access with  Integrated 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 a/g/n (WiDi). Bluetooth V4.0 for connecting to other devices
Pros
- Excellent Multitouch Display
- Strong General Performance
- Internal DVD Burner

Cons
- The system is not easy to open to access the internals for upgrading the memory such that  it is difficult to upgrade for the average consumer
- Asus N550JK is a general purpose multimedia laptop and not a gaming system like their G series.
- This laptop was able to run for 4 hours and 15 minutes before going into standby mode. The battery life is average.
